Meet Bandit, the Burrowing Owl:
I fell head over heels in love with this birdie when he looked me square in the eyes and gave a little hoot. I tried several times to get him to hoot when I was running video mode on my camera, but there was too much background noise. We met Bandit at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Saturday March 24 where there was a big display of injured birds (sniff). The group that was presenting the birds they had saved is the Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center.
Bandit was found in Buckeye, Arizona on June 22, 2006 at about 6 weeks old. He has a fractured right wing and right leg. He may have been hit by a car (sniff sniff).
Here’s one of the videos I took of my little love:
I have so much more to share, and will as I get time!
My Dad is improving every day. I’m able to post today because I got up real early. I’m still not going to be able to post regularly for a while. Bummer, because I have so much to share!
