Weeding the Garden Can Be So Cool!

As I was weeding the garden this morning, I came across a baby Black Walnut tree – and I dug it out very carefully and laid it on its side so you could see what goes on beneath the surface. This is way cool!! Squirrels love to bury nuts in the garden, and then they’re forgotten, only to grow into these little baby trees.

And finally I split it open so you can see the inside:

Is this totally cool, or what? I bet you’ll think about this little tree next time you eat walnuts!
