Lyrical Ballad Bookstore, Saratoga Springs

We went to the Lyrical Ballad Bookstore on Phila St in Saratoga Springs. This bookstore used to be a store in front and a bank in back. As a result, there are many rooms and nooks and crannies in which to search for books, and one could spend days inside and not look at everything. And they have great books, not your usual junky, dime a dozen books, but great books. Mom had a huge armload of books, and she actually put some back to save for another time. I came out with Rachel Carson’s The Edge of the Sea which I’ve been wanting for a while now, and the price was right – note – I refuse to pay full price for books, so I look around for them, or I get them out of the library.

I also purchased two New York Archives magazines from Spring 2006

and Summer 2006.

I saw many other excellent books I would love to own – maybe someday.

If you ever go to Saratoga Springs, and you love used books, this IS the place to go!

I forgot to show you the view from our 5th floor room at the Gideon Putnam, taken through the window towards the sunset:
