Happy New York Archives Week!

This week New York celebrates Archives week, and I’m looking forward to attending some of the activities associated with the celebration. I picked up this poster last Thursday (my scanner wasn’t big enough to scan the whole poster):

Isn’t that a cool bridge? It was a temporary wooden bridge built in 1880 in Brooktondale, NY over Six Mile Creek. Brooktondale is in Tompkins Co., near Ithaca, NY. There’s quite a bit of work that went into building this temporary bridge! Don’t you love the person on top of the rail car, and the one hanging from the engine? I would be too scared to do that! Does your State celebrate Archives week?

Turns out that Ohio DOES have an Archives week, and it’s THIS week.
What do I do to celebrate this event? Preserve something?

Happy New York Archives Week to YOU!! I wonder if there’s a Halmark card for that! 🙂

Susan – that’s cool! I blogged for you in today’s post!
Thanks Lynne! If Hallmark gets wind of this, they’ll be making cards soon!
