“The Tax Man Cometh,” Castor Bean Plant

Blech! I always hate to waste my time doing my taxes. And that’s exactly what I’ve done today. I love Turbo-Tax because it walks me through everything and explains anything I ask it to, but still, it’s a royal pain the rear-end. But, it’s done. For the most part. I just have to finish the e-filing process. Woo Hoo!

Susan was asking about one of the plants I posted yesterday, here’s another photo of the Castor Bean (Ricinus communis) plant in the background:

along with another close-up of the leaves:

and it’s pretty red stems and fruit.  Red is is a good warning to us humans to “stop” because the seeds are poisonous to us along with animals and insects, due to the protein ricin.  If you want very detailed information on ricin, click here.

  1. Pam, you are introducing plants to me that I’ve never seen. I’ll need your expertise this Spring when I try to fill my gardens with bewd-loving flowers and plants. I’m starting to seriously think about it now.

TAXES! Other than the years we had out-of-state moves and hired a professional, Turbo Tax is great. Are you finished? Hopefully, it’s a monkey off your back? Michael has charge of the dreaded task, and this year, we will be writing checks to the IRS. BLECHHHH! I think it’s a good thing to at least break even.

  2. Cool plant! Oh, yes, just love the TurboTax! All done electronically and such…. so much easier! Glad you got that unpleasantness behind you. Have a wonderful day!

  3. Susan – I used it as an excuse for something to blog about. After doing taxes, my brain was burnt!

Mon@rch – Thanks! Yeah, I usually owe owe owe so I hold off ’til near the end!

Mary – Oh, there’s so many cool, wonderful bewd loving plants! I’m finished with the taxes – now waiting for the fed and state to accept them. It’s a big time monkey off my back!! I hate it every year.

Jayne – Thanks! I love Turbo Tax so much except that it’s gone up in price since I first started using it. I hope you have a wonderful day, too!

  4. Lynne – Oh, I feel for Art, I really do. Taxes are such a pain in the hiney.
OMG – good question on the plant juices. I don’t know since I don’t have one. If I get a chance I’m going to be emailing you later. . .
