One Year Ago Today. . .

I thought I was in “hell.” This was the day my Dad was taken from us. Today Mom wanted to visit the cemetery, so we took off from work (yay!) and spent part of this beautiful, 64 degree F day in the cemetery he’s buried in.

They still don’t have his bronze plaque on the monument yet. Hopefully next time!

We also visited the cemetery where my Mom’s Mother is buried (among many of our other relatives) and found that someone had carved this little heart seat out of a stump.

We also visited my Grandmother’s cousin, who is almost 90. Wow! Can you imagine living until you’re 90?

  1. (((((Pam))))) I know it was a hard day. Doesn’t seem possible it’s been a year. Glad you were able to take the day off.
What a sweet little bench someone carved there!

  2. It is still emotional for me to visit my mom’s grave even after 10 years. I don’t get out to the west coast that often so it is almost like the first time all over again when I do get the chance to stop. I hope your mom was comforted by your visit to your dad’s grave.

That is just a darling little bench someone made.

My dad is going to be 92 soon and he gets around better than I do. He’s still smarter and sharper than me and still can out do me at anything (especially ping pong,) and he still chops wood and is an excellent driver. Some people have been blessed with eternal youth. I don’t think I inherited that gene as I’m already falling apart. 😦

  3. I am thinking of you and your mom, Pam. My dad has been gone seven years, and it is still very hard for my mom on the anniversary. xxoxx

  4. Pam, I know it must have been an emotional visit. In the two years my Mom has been gone, I still bawl at the sight of her grave.

And, no, I can’t imagine living until I’m 90! Especially when I get out of bed in the morning feeling soooo stiiiiiiif.
