Flicker

Jayne asked me to “come out and play” so I thought I’d pop my head up for a minute and post a Flicker I saw last week eating ants in my lawn. Photos aren’t that good because she was far out in the lawn. I figure it’s a she because I don’t see the little black mustache in the photo!

And here’s her pretty backside:

I apologize for taking a blogging break, and a commenting on your wonderful blogs break, but I will be back soon!! I promise!

I’ll leave you with this gazing ball that’s in my Mom’s fern garden. I love how it shows her Sycamore tree!

  1. Dear Pam,
I’m glad you’ve popped your head up. I’ve missed you! Love the flicker and the gazing ball snuggled in the lush green ferns and hostas is gorgeous. It makes me think cool thoughts which is helpful because here in Minnesota it’s 94 degrees with smothering humidity. I hope you are well. Hugs from me. 🙂

  2. I’ve missed you, too, Pam. You caught some wonderful photos today – I love that gazing ball and will need to find one for myself.

Don’t apologize – ever. Did I ever mention to you the concept of “Blogging Without Obligation”? I’m ready for a few days break myself and although I want to say “I’m sorry” (sorry to myself), I am really catching on to that concept. We all have circumstances and limited time. It’s OK, Girl!

Hope you are doing well and remember we are hear. We have e-mail addresses.

    Hugs,
    Mary

  3. Hey, even if you can only play now and again, it’s nice to see you just the same! Thanks for making my day with your flicker and beautiful gazing ball. Next time I’ll bring my new jumprope… you won’t be able to resist. (Hugs to you friend!)

  4. I miss seeing your wonderful post and glad you decided to just say hello to us all! These flickers are great and love the ball photo you captured! Is that you that I see in the picture?? We always like hearing from you from time to time!

  5. Glad to hear from you! Tell your mom that I love the gazing ball nestled in the ferns like that.

We had a pair of flickers eariler in the summer, just realized I haven’t seen them in the yard lately.

  6. Sometimes I think gazing balls look silly. But this one is so perfectly placed… ferns all around, the sycamore. You’re making me rethink gazing balls… hhmmm…..

  7. Glad to know all is well and you popped up for a minute.
    Flickers are beautiful birds!
The gazingball in the ferns is lovely!
I have a large crystal ball I keep thinking would look good outside. Your picture convinced me to try it!
    Thanks,
    Sherry

  8. oh my that gazing ball is spectacular!!! I understand your taking a blog break…I’m taking one myself. But the thing is.. I can’t stop feeling guilty about it.

    Your pictures are beautiful!

  9. There you are – with more wonderful pictures! I’m taking huge breaks too. Summer is so full and we have all winter to muse and post and catch up.

The gazing ball and fern pix is Splendid! I think I see you reflected in pink :0)
